The Story:

From its tragic beginning, to its equally tragic end, the hauntingly beautiful tale of The Phantom of the Opera is detailed here, with particular attention to the Susan Kay version of the story.

The Phantom of the Opera is a story of love, obsession, music and possession; a tale of desire - for love, acceptance, understanding and the ultimate control. It is Erik's tale; each and every moment of his life, allowing us a magnified view of the monstrosity that both society and the individual are capable of. Our story is one of unaccountable genius, trapped within a package destined to inspire fear in those who came face to face with it; and later determined to maintain that fear at any cost.

We follow Erik from his traumatic childhood, through his torturous adolescence, into his bloody and murderous adulthood, knowing all the while how differently things could have been, if he had only been shown even the smallest amount of the love that he desired. The love which all of us are worthy of. The love that was denied to him, based solely on his appearance.
